Residential Steam Cleaning is the common name used for hot water extraction carpet cleaning.
This method can be performed using a truckpowered unit or with portable extraction equipment.
Truckpowered carpet cleaning uses exceptionally hot water and high powered vacuums to clean the carpet. The use of cleaning chemicals is kept to a minimum because of the high heat involved with this method. Carpets tend to dry quickly with this method because of the exceptional suction of the truckpowered machinery.
Portable extraction units have come a long way. Most machines come equipped with two-three stage vacuum motors and high powered pumps capable of putting out 500PSI of hot water. The shortcoming to this method is that it is much more labour intensive for the carpet cleaner himself.
